McKesson Sponsors Charitable Event at NHPCO

McKesson has participated in the National Hospice and Palliative Care Association (NHPCO) annual conferences for many years through exhibits and sponsorships. This year, we took that participation to a new level by organizing a charity event with more than 200 participants at the NHPCO Clinical Team Conference, held October 15-16 in Dallas.
We called the event, “One Last Wish” and invited conference attendees to join us in a human chain by holding hands. McKesson agreed to contribute $5 for each participant to the NHPCO Foundation’s Lighthouse of Hope Fund, which offers children and adults with life-limiting illness the chance to take a break by allowing them to have their wishes and dreams come true.
We mailed an invitation to conference attendees to announce the event and promoted it through additional calling efforts and social media. At the announced time, we had 227 participants hold hands in two chains. To involve the McKesson Hospice™ staff who were unable to attend the conference, we held a third event that included 45 participants. McKesson’s grand total contribution was $1,360.00.
